The Project has been a unique and inspiring initiative, made possible through funding from the Welsh Government’s St David’s Day Pilot Support Fund.
Developed as part of St David’s Day celebrations, the project brought together two coastal communities to explore identity, creativity, and shared heritage. Participants took part in a series of creative workshops, producing handmade “icons” inspired by the story of St David and early Celtic traditions. These individual pieces became part of a wider artistic and cultural journey connecting communities.
The project culminated in a special screening event, where the film captured the creativity, collaboration, and spirit of everyone involved. It was fantastic to see people come together to celebrate not only the final film, but the process behind it; highlighting the strength of community participation and the power of creative expression.
The project enabled meaningful engagement across all ages, strengthened connections between communities, and showcased the value of community-led cultural initiatives.
We are grateful to everyone who took part, supported, and contributed to making the project such a success, and we’re delighted to share the final film with a wider audience.
